Draft at Sea Dog Brewpub in Conway, NH. Clear copper color with no head. Good nutty brown ale flavor. Unremarkable, just good.

From old tasting notes. Deep copper brown color. Rocky beige head. Sweet earthy toasted malt aroma. Crisp dry malt finish leads to a bitter hop finish.

On tap at Hopjacks. Pours a cloudy amber with thick off white head. The aroma is raisin, honey, and floral. Thin mouth, toffee and caramel, sweet finish, good.

Tap at the Orlando venue. Pours dark copper with a creamy beige head. Aroma is pleasantly fruity. Flavor is malty, but not nutty. It seems floral with some grass, and is decently bitter. Could be a short circuit in my brain, but it suggests Best Bitter.

2004 draft @ Periwinkles in Essex. Pours a rusty brown, mostly clear, with some copper and earthy yellow tinges to it. Some light oranges in there as well. Small beige head. Smells musty, lightly sour, somewhat bitter from hops and a hint of molasses and light brown sugar. Flavor is a mix of malt (brown sugar, light caramel) and American alpha hops (lightly bitter floral hops). Quite fresh tasting and pretty good overall, but complexity dosent quite approach the Smuttynose old brown dog, IMHO. Little fruit flavor, somewhat drowned out by hops and sweet malt, of which there is quite a bit.
