Originally made for drinks store Nevejan in Hoogstade. Blend of Sas Pils and Leroy Bock.

Deze light pils heeft, ondanks zijn lage alcoholpercentage, de smaak van een volle pint waardoor Ridder het ideale bier is voor de caféganger die het liever wat lichter heeft. Net zoals onze andere bieren wordt Ridder gebrouwen met een uitgelezen combinatie van bittere en aromatische hop. Deze dorstlesser heeft een licht bittere smaak die bekroond wordt met een persistente schuimkraag.

Bottle @ home. Clear colour, white foam. Crispy and bitter beer. Light and weak, refreshing and easy drinkable. Not a bad low alcohol beer!

Pours clear blonde, not much of a head. Smell is crispy, malty, a lot like a lager to be fair. Is this low fermentation ? Taste is surprisingly bitter. Still tastes a lot like a lager, but the bitterness this one has is nowhere what you would expect from a beer like this. Of course, the body and the back don’t stand up to this strong taste, but given the abv, i’d say thats only reasonable. Kinda good, for what it is !

25cl, best before 01.15. The beer starts malty fresh, hints of grain, slightly smooth. Not too deep but fullbodied. Grainy-smooth and fresh aftertaste with quite lots of bitterness. Very nice.

Clear pale, very pale yellowish beer, creamy white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of grains, malty, hay, bit sweet, sugary, some almonds. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: lots of hay, grains, malty, little sweet, bit off. Aftertaste: bitter, metallic, lots of grains, cow fodder, more metallic.

Brown 25cl bottle, best before Nov 2010, poured into a ’La Chouffe’ stemmed tulip glass and reviewed on 6 Oct 2010. Didn’t know what to expect, I got this in Brugge without the aid of my glasses: memo to me; wear glasses when buying new beers and check alcohol levels! Very lager/pilsner like in apperance, light golden body with the regular snowy white head. The aroma was again typical pilsner/lager, grains, with hints of yeast and hops. Dry and boring flavours, neither bitter or sweet. As thin as a beer gets in the body stakes, but it is only 2.25%ABV so one shouldn’t expect too much taste or richness. All in all, I got what was on the label (just couldn’t see it without my glasses).

Bottle. Frothy white good mostly deminishing head. Pale yellow colour. moderate malty and light hoppy bad grainy aroma. Light bitter not pleasent flavor. Short finish. Watery palate.

Bottled@Monks Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is mashy, cardboardy and mildly ryebready. Also has some sliht toasted notes. Flavour is being quite similar. Thin palate.

Bottle. Pours orange gold with a foamy white head. Aroma like citrus on wet dog. Medium body with mild foamy carbonation. Flavor is ok citrus over malt. Actually tastes better than some pale lagers. Finishes bitter. Excellent effort for the "style".

Huge, fluffy white head over pale straw-golden beer. Very malty nose, straw, drying grass, cattle fodder. Malty to sweetish, but with marked hoppy-bitterish overtones - bit like a light British Bitter. Again a bit grassy. Rather carbonated, watery, light bodied. It’s light, which is normal. It starts fine - bitterish. But after a few sips, one starts wondering if one’s drinking coloured sparkling water.
