Nice review, superspak!! My can pours orangish pale with a slight haze. White fine creamy head. Nose is sweet beefy alarming heavy malty hops. First taste is a big kick in the face, excessively boozy and it just don't care. So difficult for a pale lager lover, whew. Almost causes a gag reflex. So big, so bad, so bitchy, so bastard, so bollocks, so barbaric and bawdy. Like man, who gives a shit? After the first half can, I'm hoping some numbing sensations will begin to cool my brain. Don't know if I can finish this but my feeling is; if I can, I'll get the most buzzerie. Thanks to the massive mouth coating bitter bite, my reaction to the bitterness is rooted in instinct and genetics. Thanks to evolution, I was born with an instinctive super blech reaction to anything that tastes this nasty bitter. Towards the end, I'm thinken; this hop bomb is pretty viscous. Almost sticky in nature. So difficult to finish. It's actually making my eyes water. I'm such a wimp when it comes to these, my early ancestors were hunter-gatherers, and a primal reaction to bitterness helped them avoid poisonous plants. Certainly one of the most over achieving IPA I've had in months. Think Revolution X Hero Juicy Rush, Mad Tree Galaxy High, Green Flash Green Bullet and Lagunitas Waldo's Special. Niw my nose is runny, blah. Even if I cut this with 10 parts pale lager to one part creeper, it would still be a bonafide IPA! There you have it, the thoughts of a macro pale lager lover.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/10/2018. Pours slightly hazy medium golden/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lasts. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, light peppercorn, pine, honey, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, light peppercorn, pine, honey, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, honey, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 10% after the finish. Overall this is an amazing DIPA. All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and pale malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not aggressive. Feels like Simcoe, Citra, Amarillo, and Columbus. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great balancing bready malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness, very well attenuated for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example as expected.

Bottle thnx to Mike ! Pours rather clear amber, good white head . Smell is pine, very intense, bitter; Taste is very intense, pine, extremely pine. Also an amazing amount of stone-fruit like characters. Tha amarillo balances it all out to a pure hopjuice bomb. this is bold, and extreme, the way I like it. Might not be my favourite kind of hoppyness, but the intensity here is damn nice !

On tap at the Brew Kettle. This beer is a fairly clear gold with a minimal head. Aromas if honey and resin with a boozy edge to them. Flavor has none of the resin, though. It starts out sweet (honey) heads to hoppy (apricot and fruit) and ends hot (booze). This is a pretty nice beer to have on tap in March when winter is hanging on.

12 oz draft at the brewery in Columbus, Ohio. This was sold as a "Triple IPA", though the bartender did mention it had some Barley Wine characteristics. The pour is a hazed cheddar orange with a small off white head. Thick sheeting of lace are left behind as the beer goes down. The aroma is citrus hop, floral, and then a decent amount of honey sweetness. The taste is honey floral sweet, clove yeast, then a solid shot of booze in the back. A bit overwhelming for my tastes, the honey cloyed a bit. The palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation, and a weird honey sweet clove booze finish. Pretty unrefined and over the top for me.

On draught at the brewpub, served in a chalice. The beer is a hazy bright yellow-orange color with a medium thin and foamy off-white head that recedes steadily. Strings and spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrusy hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of hops and grapefruit, plus some sweet malt in the background. The finish is hoppy with a lingering bitterness left behind. I would have picked this as a IIPA 10 out of 10 times, easily one of the most hoppy Barley Wines I have tried. Style interpretation aside though it is a good beer.
