Blend of two barrel aged beers, 80% rye barrel aged barleywine (aged four months in rye whiskey barrels) and 20% bourbon barrel-aged imperial blonde (aged 10 months in Bourbon barrels), which was then re-dry hopped after barrel aging with 2013 crop Centennials to round out the flavor.

The description of this beer is quite impressive..... Murky, muddy, copper pour with a medium beige head. The aroma is an absolute Bourbon barrel bomb. Huge Bourbon notes, wood, hints of vanilla and very earthy, slightly sweet pine resin hops with some toffee and caramel. Big, viscous mouth feels with a more lively than expected carb. The finish is medium bitter with a strong soapy pine character. Toffee and caramel are very present, with a gigantic Bourbon barrel finish. It’s good, but it’s a barrel bomb and an acquired taste.

Bomber from Belmont Station. Pours opaque light brown with a slight, transient beige head. Aroma of bourbon/rye, floral, wood. Med + body. Flavor is aroma with some brown sugar and leather. For me it’s somewhat complex. Intriguing. Tasty. Went quite nicely with the Chimay cheese Marcus provided.

Hazy, light amber-brown. Medium head. Served in a chunky goblet. Sweet fruity nose, quasi-Belgian with a lot of esters and mild sweet malt notes. Drinks big and thick. Sweetness is not bad, masks the alcohol a bit. Not entirely sure what they are going for, but it’s a decently balanced strong ale.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver; 10oz
Cloudy dark amber color with compact head. The aroma is boozy, with fruity esters, dark berries, wood. Medium body strength; it has a moderate sweetness degree, but fought (rather than peacefully balanced) by the strong alcohol presence; flavor of dark malts, non descriptive, hint of dark fruits, slightly earthy; expected bitterness, nothing is said about the hop quality. Way too boozy, and the rye whiskey hardly works with beers, it’s too harsh.
Very chaotic beer.

Bomber from Tavour. Nose is light bourbon, vanilla, mango, apricot, and toffee, very fruity! Rusty red with a medium lightly lacing beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter, lightly sweet, white peppery, and of tropical fruit. Excellent BA ale.

On tap at Belmont Station Bier Cafe, pours a cloudy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma is very earthy, with subdued whiskey notes and tropical fruitiness. Flavour is earthy and whiskey-dominated, with muffled earthiness dominating, obscured hoppiness and alcohol. Something doesn't add up here - confused and muddled.

Poured at Wtf 2, cloudy orange with small frothy off white head. The aroma is fruity hop, rye, oak. Medium mouth, bourbon, vanilla, caramel, nice sweetness, very good.

Interesting beer. On tap in Milwaukee. Pours a dark mostly clear copper/red color with a medium white head. A big fruity nose, heat, some whiskey. The flavor is very complex: mostly a sweet big BA barley wine, berries, caramel, brown sugar, more heat, a bit of sweet bourbon. A full bodied beer. Excellent.
