As with most stouts, the predominant character of this ale is a complex roasty aroma and flavor contributed by roasted barley and black patent malts. With Pale malt as the foundation, a combination of 20% rye and other imported specialty malts lends underlying nutty and bready notes to round out the malt character of this dark ale! Our rye stout is designed to let the malts shine through so Nugget and Amarillo hops are used in the brewhouse to add just enough bitterness to achieve balance on the palate.

Ok, got this can for cheap. I normally don't effin try these rye beers; but hey, its was less than 2 bucks off the mixed sixer at chalet. So, lets give it a tick: That chalet premier, its a really nice place, if you are in the area, you need to try it, north lima ohio. After poured into the glass, its getting close to black dark, almost large and in charge, but I see some red brown light shining thru it. Nose is mild dark beer. First taste, its rye, lots of the character of a big fat IPA, but it of course this is a stout, so be it. There is some burnt attributes on top of the rye-ish IPA personality, I guess that makes it a stout, a rye stout, hehehehhh. You know, I'm hoping to get a little buzz of this stuff since its not too pleasant but WTF? Some co2, could use more. Yea, repo will never happen to me, I never buy shit on credit. That's what's wrong with the USA; they need to have it but can't get it unless its OPM. There, now you have it. Hopefully, you didn't buy this BS on credit!!!! Finally, on the finish, the taste reminds me a little of the horny goat white stout; hehehehh.

Can, dark brown pour with a small light brown head. Chocolate and coffee, full nose. A bit sweet with a nice molasses flavor that carries into the aftertaste. Nice dry bitterness to balance it towards the end. Really tasty big-bodied stout.

Pours near black with a sizable tan head. It smells of dark roast malt, chocolate and coffee. It tastes similar with a dose of malty, chocolatey sweetness balanced by the dark roast character and hops. There’s a touch of spicy rye and its characteristic dryness in the finish. Very good.
