Mr. Hard's Rocks Sweet Dreams

Draft glass at Warszawski Festiwal Piwa’17 - day 2. Brune foncée, col blanc-cassé, doré au verre. Arôme au nez finement malté et grillé, pointe de chocolat en rétro avec un léger effet lacto-grillé, petite note citronnée amertume houblonnée en rétro. Palais est épais comme la base habituelle de ce stout impérial. Lactose apporte une fine note de douceur, pointe d’épice rappelant la réglisse. Épaisseur orientée vers la mélasse avec un caractère prenant de chocolat noir amer en fin de bouche. Fini collant aux lèvres.

Bottle shared in Warsaw. Pours clear deep brown with a bubbly, tan head. The aroma has torched wood in the nose, rich chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavour with more burnt wood, brown sugar, hearty cocoa, scorched earth, mellow bitterness. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, some burnt vegetal notes, a little cloying, vague coffee. Not bad.

Bottle split at XhithÆd towers, Warsaw HQ, 08/04/17. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is chocolate, mint, spice, spruce, chocolate mint chip ice cream. Taste comprises creme de menth, chocolate, light spice, match makers, menthol, herbal tang. Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Ok but lacks balance ... a touhc touch too herbal/menthol for me.
