Our rotating single hop DIPA series this time brewed with Citra. We are embarking on a fantastical journey (or dare we say quest) to put a singular focus on all of our favorite hop varieties, one at a time. A light and simple malt base of Pilsner Malt and Oats allow the single hop varieties to shine without stepping on it's toes.

Panda thanks to Cloin. A light haze on this slightly dirty looking orange gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Light malts, a light creamy sweetness, touch of grain, nothing concerning. Light bright pine. Fairly rich and ripe citrus, slightly bruised. Citra is a hop that has largely survived mass cultivation and terroir spread but it has lost a couple of things and one of them is pink grapefruit brightness and that would have really helped brighten this one.

On tap at RidgeWood, pours an opaque chalky yellow with a small white head. Aroma is chalky as hell, with lots of hopburn, chalky BS… this is garbage. Another nasty chalk bomb that somehow impresses people. Undrinkable.

Can from Holiday Market. Pours a hazy, glowing straw gold with a full 2 fingers of white foam that dissipates. Big pungent pineapple focused nose with apricot jam, honey, tangerine and mango aromas. Smooth and dangerously drinkable for the ABV. More notes of pineapple, apricot and tropical fruit flavors. Balanced finish between sweet tropical fruit, citrus and honey.

Sample at Kurtkeller 028: Wisconsin-tastic 01 on 06/10/2018. Cloudy straw-gold color with a medium thick frothy white head that diminishes gradually to an outer ring. Partial rings of lace. Herbal hops, citrus and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, herbal hops and bready malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Can poured into a snifter showing turbid apricot yellow with sparse white foam. The nose shows strong notes of guava and NE style malt with lighter notes of papaya. The palate is light bodied and well carbonated. Pronounced flavours of guava and NE style malt with a mild bitterness on the finish. Resurgence of more guava on the end.
