Inspired by Cafe’ Cubano, this sweet stout features coffee from local Austin roasters, The result is a big roasty milk stout, well balanced with notes of coffee, chocolate, caramelized sugar, and hints of vanilla.

27 September 2022. At Zilker taproom, Austin. Shared with the lovely Anke!
Hazy black, stable, frothy, beige head. Aroma of cold coffee & coffee roast, chocolate powder, earth, walnut, chestnut. Taste has sweetish coffee & cream, vanilla, fondant powder and a toasty edge. Earthy hoppy finish with bitter coffee, a bit ashy. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Recognisable as a Milk Stout but with the right amount of roast, very good.

Draft. A- Coffee, roasty. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, beige head. T- Coffee, roasty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Lovely coffee stout. Almost straight black coffee and loads of it. Not too sweet either. A well rounded beer. Good stuff. The fact that the coffee is from SummerMoon makes me even happier. An fantastic coffee shop! If they added their milk concoction too, this would be out of the world.

Corner, Austin tap: pours black with barely any head. Aroma is milky coffee and lactose with minor roast. Taste is sweet and legitimately "milker" than other milk stouts. Very low bitterness and not overpowering coffee. Not a huge fan.

On tap at Zilker, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of roasted espresso beans upfront, accentuated well with the lactose. Flavour follows accordingly, with a very nice coffee character upfront, followed by lactose and a touch of vanilla. Very good coffee character on the finish. Medium-bodied with plenty of depth. Good stuff.

Keg at Wright Bros. Brew & Brew - Austin. Pours deep brown with a creamy, light tan head. The nose holds milky chocolate, light roast, hints of coffee. Medium sweet with more milk chocolate, light earthy bitterness, milky coffee, toasted malts, faint caramel, chocolate syrup. Light to medium bodied with smooth, massaging texture. Creamy and chocolatey on the finish, with impressions of bitter coffee, light roasted beans, vanilla, faint molasses, more milk chocolate. Really solid overall. Nicely layered.
