Gnommegang - Belgian-Style Blonde Ale
A little magic and a lot of mischief. This time the gnomes brought more than just yeast from their Belgian farmstead Brasserie d'Achouffe! While Coop and the gnomes were spicing things up at the brewery, our brewers were carefully fermenting signature, fruity, spicy Chouffe yeast to create the flavorful unique blonde ale we all love! You’ll enjoy the smooth drinkability, fruity aromas and flavors, and warming finish.

750ml bottle pours a hazy, bright yellow with a frothy, lacing white head. Sweet, sugary, boozy nose, plenty of spice, banana, clove, a little tropical fruit. Flavor is sweet, banana, pineapple candies, candy sugar. Full bodied, lightly chalky finish. Good, but a little overdone.

Pour is a cloudy gold with a average white head. Aroma is a decent Belgian yeast with some spice and herbs. Flavor is at first a nice pepper with some oily hops and dry pils malt. Decent Belgain but even though i gave it a 3.4 i was still expecting this to be a bit better. After the first couple of sips it got rather bland.

On draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap. Pours with a hazy golden body with a thick and lasting white head. Aromas are pepper, lemon, light hops and alcohol. Flavors of alcohol, earthy hops in the finish. Warming. Very lively bubbles and finishes slightly bitter. I don’t get nearly the amount of flavors other raters are getting. I thought my snifter was really lacking in flavor and bland. I wouldn’t spend money on this one again.

750 c&c from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy amber gold with a 4 finger creamy off-white head. Aroma is earthy, lemon, cucumber/melon, orange, lightly grassy/spicey. Whew! Med body. Flavor is quite spicey - maybe even cinnamon. Earthy. Very fruity. Definitely grassy/herby. All that, yet it is rather mellow. And there’s not a trace of heat. This is my desert island beer. Oh yeah!

Marshmallow creme, lemon, and pear aroma, a little funk. Opaque amber, medium head, poor retention. Peach and pear flavor. Finishes with whole lemon, lemongrass. Nicely balanced, good complexity. Alcohol well masked. Clever idea, great liquid, super cool name.
