17/XI/15 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: 29/IV/17 (2015-1627) Thanks to Jerre for the bottle!

Clear purple brown beer, fizzy aery beige irregular head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: CO2, yeast, little roasted, sweet malts, some chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very sour, watery, some citrus, vinegar, roasted, malty. Aftertaste: dusty, malts, cocoa powder, caramel, sweet, pretty bitter hops, some coffee, sourish. Not what falls in the category stout in my book, too yeasty and too watery.

Danish stout brewed at Anders in Belgium. Creamy, yellowish beige, thick head over a very dark burgundy coloured beer, but not opaquely black as expected. Aroma of iron (probably head stabilizer), caramel, hazelnuts, dried leaves, baked banana; sweetish, caramelly taste with unmistakable iron again, toasted, coffee grounds bitterishness in the end with a leafy hop bitterishness, drying. Fairly enjoyable but the iron does disturb me a bit; could use more body too, certainly for this style.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - opaque black with a nice fluffy head. Nose - creamy chocolate and nuts. Taste - creamy milk chocolate. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly elegant finish. Overall - a decent stout. There’s a slight tangy Belgian yeast edge to it.
