33cl bottle from Prik&Tik Kampenhout, Belgium. F: medium, white, good retention. C: gold, almost clear. A: malty, vaguely fruity, spicy, honey, floral, red apples, banana. T: full malty base, banana, red apples, honey, peach, decent bitterness, herbal touch, medium carbonation, ok yet nothing special, bit underrated here now, enjoyed.

10 April 2021. Cheers to Maarten, Eduard & Domien! Hazy golden-orange, stable, foamy, white head. Aroma of overripe melon, mouldy orange, iron, marmalade, honey, white bread, apricot, fruity soap. Taste has sweet overripe melon & orange in a sugary marmalade body, yeasty, a bit metallic with clove-like phenols in the back. Floral hoppy finish, lots of ripe fruit, overly sweet yeast, warming jenever-like alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. It was slightly past its prime but I don't reckon it's ever a good beer. Very unrefined.

New tripel made for hobby brewery 5 Idioten in Elewijt. Dense and creamy, egg-white head over a fizzy, ’old gold’ coloured beer. Aroma of old bread, sweaty grains, lots of rubbery phenols, orange peel, peach, dry hay, white grape peel; restrainedly fruity, a bit peachy onset, gooseberry, white candi sugar sweetness lingering, smooth mouthfeel with a slightly metallic ’zing’ to it, grainy, somewhat wry ending consisting of phenols and a leafy, grassy, simple hop bitterness allowing most of the malt sweetness to come through. Not a great success - and as I argued before, aren’t there already enough mediocre tripels around in this country?

Clear pale blond beer, big solid creamy off-white head, very stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of melons, fruity, floral, rose petals maybe, elder flowers for sure. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very floral, elder flowers, not too sweet though, fruity touch, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: little spicy, floral, elder flowers, bit sweet, yeasty touch, hint of ripe banana. Decent.
