cheers to tpd975 for the share. pours pitch black, light tan/mocha head, golden lace. aroma and flavors, peat, roasted malts, soy like mouthfeel, chocolate and molasses, thick palate, leaving a syrupy finish that at times can be a little too much. No way this is 16%? Leaves an interesting lingering smoke profile.

Thanks to madmitch76 for this fine brew. This tiny bottle (with solidly rusty bottle cap that truly speaks {somehow} to the yumminess inside) pours inky black void with dark tan head and a solid legginess around the glass. The aroma is rich yummy goodness from rich chocolate, molasses, toffee, caramel covered oak, a modest level of burnt malts and some malt roastiness. The taste is smooth rich and as yummy as the nose with milk chocolate, velvety dark chocolate, spicy oak, molasses, burnt malts, more sweet molasses and then a modest level of boozy heat going down (virtually no heat for a beer this big). Smooth delicious. I’d like to have a case of these little rusty capped bottles.

(Bottle from Ølbtuikken) Poured almos black - some reddish hints at edges. Didn’t form any head. Aroma contained roastedness, liquorice, hint of fennel and alcohol. Palate was full bodied and dry with low carbonation. Flavours were roastedness, saltiness, mildy soy sauce, ash and liquorice. The very long lasting aftertaste contained liquorice and mildly bitterness. Reminded a bit of Beer Here Mørke.

Small bottle with a rusted (?!) cap thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with no head. Looks like soy sauce in the glass. Coating with some legs. Aroma is musty, chocolate, earth, pencil shavings, soy, teriyaki and licorice. Taste is big, thick and bitter. Metallic and a bit acrid. Syrupy. Autolysis.

Bottle courtesy of tarheels86. Appearance of used motor oil, no head, no lacing. Aroma of the inside of a vacuum cleaner bag. Taste of low sodium soy sauce. Past its prime, I think. Unpleasant. Good conversation starter, I guess.

Black with a tiny brown head. Intense licorice and molasses aroma with dark caramel, brown sugar and a hint of meaty smoke. Very rich and intense burnt caramel flavour. Sweet but nowhere near cloying. Touch of peppermint. Very warming, but not at all hot alcohol. Very different from other super-strong black beers. A masterpiece to be proud of!

Bottle at RBESG 09 Sheffield. Strong porter, black as night. Thin tan head. Intense hot aroma. Smoother in mouth. xxxx me intense, really just incredible. But way too much tar and booziness.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown almost black color with no head. Has a strong malty caramel aroma with hints of licorice and burnt sugar. Sweetish strong malty caramel flavor with hints of sugar and licorice and some hints of wood. Has a strong malty caramel finish with some hints of licorice in the aftertaste.
