250mL bottle, courtesy of fiulijn (thanks a lot, Alex), pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is dense, with burnt caramelized sugar, roasted malt, liqueur and tobacco. Flavour is complex as hell, with notes of tobacco, smoked malt, burnt caramelized sugar and liqueur. Quite robust, bordering on too harsh, but this is quite elegant nonetheless. Finishes burnt, lightly smoky and alcoholic without being too much.

Bottle at Stockholm Beer and Whiskey Festival 2012. Opaque black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, port, licorice, booze, spices and light ash. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter with notes of coffee, fennel (why?!) and chocolate. Full bodied with light to medium carbonation. The fennel just ruins the taste...

Bottle at the RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting, London. Pours oily black-brown with a small, filmy head. Roasty nose with some alcohol and aged dark malts. Big sweet flavor with a weird, kind of peaty and earthy character. Pretty big in body with average carbonation. Some burnt sugar and peat and wet wood to finish. Not bad. Pretty interesting.

0.25l bottle @ The Bishops Arms (Vasagatan), Stockholm. Pours a dark as the night body with a thin and quickly fading and light bubbly off-white head. The aroma is dark dark dark with chocolate, burned roasted malts, coffee, dark licorice and sugar. Soft carbonation in a oily as hell and light sticky mouthfeel. Fantastic roasted, sweet, boozy and black flavors. There is dark Belgian chocolate with lots and lots of roasted goodness in here. Warming as hell in the finish. Greatness x 2. It's just such a great sipper and a fantastically flavorful beer. Love it.
