375ml bottle at home, sourced from The Grove, Huddersfield. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with hardly any head. Aroma: fruit cake, raisins, dates, whisky, figs. Taste: moderate to heavy sweet, dried fruits, raisins, soym booze infused fruit cake, slight oxidisation. Remarkably thin bodied for the ABV, with minimal carbonation. Sweet, boozy finish.

Bottle at a tasting. Mostly sweetish and malty, caramel and chocolate notes, slightly woody. Another one of the bunch, which survived the prolonged aging in a pretty good shape. Enjoyed!

Courtesy of Daniele; synthetic cork, bottled 22.09.11; April 2012
Dark mahogany color, small head. Caramel head, with some oxidisation. Food body, malt and caramel flavor, but too much alcohol; strong bitterness; a bit nutty; moderate sweetness.

Bottle shared at Leighton’s place. 7/1/2015. Huge thanks to Colin for this one. Dark brown mahogany brown coloured pour, viscous, fading dark tan head. Aroma is robust, solvent, sticky toffee, salty, fruit cake, boozy. Palate is medium sweet and oily, lowish carbonation . Little age on this, oxidised. Flavour is composed salty, sticky toffee, pudding, figs and dried fruit, dried fruit. I like it. Little boozy in the finish. Aged pretty well.

Bottle split at LKS, 07/01/16. Murky mahogany brown with no head. Nose is musty, light oxidised tones, fruit cake, spice, tobacco. Taste comprises rich fruit cake, honey, spice, toffee, dates, toasted brown sugar. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying with a boosty tickle. Decent enough fayre.
