Pours dark brown, small, nearly no white head. Smell is sweet, corns, sugary syrup. Taste is sweet, mild bitterness, bit chemically sweet, but still OK. Some mild spices. OK, for what it is :)

One of those (hopelessly?) old-fashioned brown table beers older beer drinkers in Belgium are usually quite familiar with. This one has a pale beige head and clear chocolate brown colour; tastes caramelly with a hint of walnuts but also very sweet, cola-like even, with still some faint roasted bitterishness in the finish. Not a bad example of the style.

Bottle @ Schraevenacker, Belgium. Pours very dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma of malt, caramel, light sourness, wood. Flavor is very sweet, malty, burnt brown sugar, caramel, light sourness, cardboard notes. Thin watery body, soft carrbonation, sweet finish. 030814

7/VII/2012 - 1L bottle @ Bierjutterij (Oostende) - BB: n/a (2012-695)

Clear dark brown beer, small beige head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: sewers, really bad stuff. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: bitter metallic, some caramel, brown sugar, touch of lemon juice, cola like flavours. Aftertaste: lots of metallic, bitterness.

Short lived brown-yellow head over deep-brown beer. Leather, brown candi sugar, liquorice, moss - and some lactic acid. That might sound good, but it isn’t much good. Somehow, it smells forced. Sweet taste with a slight sourish tinge. Actually way better than the nose, but too sweet by some lenghts. Slightly woody, brown candi sugar. Empty, watery texture but with a slickness I link to artificial sweetener. Its taste is not bad, and I conced this would make the perfect stepping stone to real (good) beer for smaller children.

Bottle. Weak sweet and sour aroma. The colour is very dark brown with a red hue. Very small light brown head. The flavour is quite sweet with a hint of sourness, also quite watery. Seems to lack something, which is probably alcohol.
