Bottle @ home. Clear yellow golden color, medium sized white head that lasts for a long time and leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma is somehow a mix or some fruityness, oak and lightly madeira wine or sherry. Like I said: somehow in a good way, quite nice. The flavor has it as well: malts, some alcohol, quite fruity, liqueur, oak, sweetish dark fruits, lightly raisins and again I’m reminded of rhum, madeira or sherry BA beers. Soft mouthfeel, velvety smooth texture, suitable carbonation. Total surprise this one. Would have never guessed this was a tripel and I have no idea how they did this, but it’s surprisingly good and totally not what I had expected.

Bottled. Hazy golden, rich head. Peppery fruity nose. Sweetish and cardboardy with medium body. Mostly about alcohol heat and overripe fruits. Generic tripel.

Very clear, bright yellow-golden beer, well carbonated to a transparant, fine white head. Rather vinous nose, dry white wine with a bit of madeirisation, alcohol, vegetable & fruity esters, inviting. Estery, on fusels’ base, alcoholic-liqueurish, very special flavour, like madeirized sherry. Bit creamy MF, well-carbonated, slight alcoholwarming, bit neutral finishing. Having been scathingly sarcastic about another Van Steenberge brew hours ago, honesty compells me to recognise this is a very original, unusual beer - and one I like!

BottleL Poured a golden clear color with a fast acting white head, lots of carbonation and lacing. It seemed like it took me 10 minutes to pour this beer from the bottle. The aroma is sour and alcohol with a bit of floral features. Taste is bitter at first with a sour malt flavor its a bit metallic with hops. Could this be a bad bottle?
