We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Hazy color, dark mahogany; medium sized head. The caramel aroma is perfumy enough. Good body strength; powerful caramel aroma, with some chocolate and oxidisation; also lightly dusty. Well balanced. The aroma is finer, the flavor is more ordinary.

Bottle thanks to a generous trader. Pours dark brown. Tan head. Nose and taste of mostly dark fruits - sweet raisin, date and figs with roasted malts and Belgian yeast. Body is a bit on the light side. Good carbonation.

750ml bottle. Worthless label description. Thick, practically opaque brown-burgundy color. Soapy, lacy beige head. Mellow dark Belgian yeast aroma. The raisin flavor is apparent, but melds perfectly in with the style. Mellow carbonation in comparison to it’s Belgian role-models. Still quite a nice beer, subdued and subtle. Easy drinking, hides the alcohol superbly. Pretty solid, well executed.

Bottle at the Funky 6. Pours a semi-clear, amber-brown with a dense, off-white head. Malty, sugary aroma with caramel, raisins and anis. Very sweet, with malts, lightly roasted, more caramel, toffee and plenty of ripe, dark fruits. Medium bodied with an oily consistency and average carbonation. Finishes sweet, warm and with lingering fruit and toffee notes. Good beer. (August 2010, score: 3.7)
Draft at Craft Beer Co. Clapham during Route CBC - London. Pours clear amber with a creamy, off-white head. The nose holds meaty malts, burnt herbs, orange rind. Medium sweet flavor with more meat, light ham, toast, moderate caramel. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with toasted malts, light caramel, earth, honeyed ham. Nice one.
