Bottle. Best before 2004. Pours unclear blond, with a OK sized white head. Smell is madeira, slightly sweet , has a very mild sour-bitter tone to it as well. Taste is sharp, grainy, dusty, in a way. the beer held up magnificently well for its age. Some madeira notes, but not nearly as much oxidation as one would expect. Slightly sweet, very malty. the MF and carbo are as good as you’d expect from a beer thats fresh. Bit of colliding taste at first ( due to the age, i’m sure ) when the bitterness clashes with the sweet, malty, madeira factor. Turns to an aftertaste thats very nice though ! It consists of complex sweetness ( malts and madeira ) with an almost woody undertone. at this age, its a pretty impressive beer !

Hazy golden coloured body with a white head and a bunch of bubbles rising up from the bottom. Aroma of strong malt, wheat, alcohol and a good light freshness. Medium to Full-bodied; Spicey flavour of nutmeg and coriander seed shows first with some citrus and the wheatie characteristics behind. Aftertaste shows some good flavours with a sweet complexity at the end. Overall, good if you can find it - I enjoyed this one! I sampled this 25 cL bottle purchased at a small corner shop in Bruxelles, Belgium on 13-March-2008.

Bottle. Unclear light yellow amber color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, sweet, brown sugar, yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and light acidic with a short duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (021007)

(Bottle 33 cl) Hazy, pilsener golden with a handsome and retentive, white head. Aroma of yeast and alcohol. Full-bodied, sweetish malty body with some lightly perfumy notes. Some diacetyl and a distinct, warming alcohol. Quite a nice Tripel. 130906
