Bottle split at L6, thanks to Leighton, 10/02/20. Lightly hazed amber pour with a moderate off white cap that dissipates to spotting. Nose is dusty fruit esters, funk, vinous tones, marzipan, light sweat, wood must. Taste comprises wood must, trace of sherry, vinous, dusty fruits, hedgerow, bitter sweet. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close kissed with modest background acidity. Passable affair.

Bottle shared in London. Pours mostly clear orange-gold a slight, foamy white head. Nicely aged, rich honey, bready pale malts, apricots, maybe a touch of toffee. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, a little sticky, more honey, brioche, ripe citrus. Quite nice actually.

bottle, rated April 2017 - Dark amber pour. Aroma of oak, caramel, dark fruit, and alcohol. Flavor is sweet with wood, caramel, malt, and dark fruit. It's hard for it not to be a bit boozy at 13.5% but it works. Very good.

Light haze on this orange - amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Malts are light and dry. Thin creamy sweetness, trace of unsweet caramel. Mild spice. The cognac is obvious but quite smooth. Mild dried fruits but quite vibrant in flavour. More spice in the semi dry finish. Hides the abv fairly well.
