Beer gushes out of the bottle. Huge head. Only slight juniper aroma, the malt dominates.mSweet, malty flavor with juniper berries and genever, slightly artificial. This beer is much more balanced as the Rader Blonde, although the alcohol dominates.

Visuel : Couleur : ambrée foncée. Apparence : voilée.
Arôme : Levures fruitées (pommes mûres, léger d’agrumes sucrés) et légèrement épicées, malt pâle sucré, notes de houblon floral et herbeux.
Goût : Entrée de bouche : Levures fruitées (pommes mûres, notes d’agrumes et de poires). Un support de grains de malt sucrés est également présent avec un léger goût de miel, de pain, d’alcool et de houblon herbeux.
En bouche : Corps : moyen. Effervescence : moyenne. Texture : très légèrement crémeuse. Finale : moyenne, composé d’un goût légèrement amer d’alcool doux, de levures fruitées et de houblon herbeux.

*Old rating, best before 10/2008. Malzig-kräuteriges Bier mit einem Hauch Alkohol. Der Korn(?)brannt passt sich gut ins Gesamtbild ein, würzig ohne zu süß zu sein, interessant.

The amber coloured one in a series of two beers made with Radermacher jenever (an old and regional kind of spiced gin); amber colour with medium off-white head, dried fruits and sweetish caramelly malts, nutty, with clear hints of jenever especially in the warming, long finish, next to some leafy hop bitterness. I don’t like jenever very much and certainly not combined with beer, but this is quite enjoyable, better than the blond version too.

Boring Belgian amber beer, or as they call it ’speciale belge’. Very generic.

draft @ delirium pours clear, light orange with a good white head smell is a bit yeasty . taste is rather sweet, grains, bitter . OK , nothing special , yet nothing too typical

Draft @ Délirium. Wondering if this is not a tuned up Val Dieu Grand Cru with the added Jenever from Radebacher distillery. Ambrée claire, col épais blanc. Arôme malté sur ce profile de baies de genièvre avec en retrait un malt léger et une pointe de levure/sucre brun. Le tout garde un profile très belge avec ajout de cask restant subtile. Palais est réchauffant avec 10.5% qui ne dénaturent pas trop la bière. Le tout garde un profile profond de barrique et de baies de genièvre. Malté pâle/caramel sur un côté très belge dans la base de la bière, le tout garde un profile fruité rappelant la pomme cara qui est agrémenté des baies et un palais bien pétillant.

(Draught at Delirium Café, Brussels, 16 July 2012) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with dried fruit, candy sugar, dried apricots and orange peel. Malty, fruity taste with notes of orange peel, candy sugar and a spicy bitterness in a finish with a certain alcohol bite. Almost full body, quite sweet. Hardly well balanced, but quite tasty and nice.

33cl bottle @ home. Clear copper color, small white head that becomes a small lacing. Smell malts, toast, caramel, hint of sweetness, hint of bitter. Taste malts, caramel, lightly bitter, lightly alcohol, light hint of black currant and grapes. Pretty nice. Medium to full carbonation, medium body.
