A fierce and powerful creature was the Black Boar. This huge beast played a massive role in shaping ancient Irish history. Famously the Black Boar killed, and was killed by Diarmuid the warrior while he answered the challenge of his archrival Fionn Mac Cumhail in the mountain of Ben Bulben in County Sligo. The Black Boar has come to represent resilience. Fitting then that this black, silky Imperial Stout should carry the name of one of ancient Ireland’s most notorious icons.

Keg at BD CJ. It pours jet black with a decent tan head. The nose is rich, roasted malts, liquorice, treacle, vanilla, light acidity and earth. The taste is smooth, rich, roasted malts, creamy, charred wood, dark fruits, light acidity and blackcurrant jam with a dry finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. Interesting stuff all round.

Utseende: Sort.
Skum/kullsyre: Tynt skum.
Smak: Lakrsi, mørk sjokolade, vanilje med en liten syrlig avslutning.

Draught @ La Belle Alliance, Milan. Pours black with a light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, light sweet, cocoa, milk chocolate. Flavor is light sweet, malty, coffee, rich chocolate, cocoa, chocolate cake, light alcohol. Medium body, oily mouthfeel, sweet finish with some warming alcohol. 111215

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with hints of coffee. Roasted malty chocolate caramel flavor with hints of licorice. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel finish.

Butelka 330ml z datą ważności ? (obejrzałem dokładnie butelkę i kapsel i nie mogę znaleźć, kupione ok pól roku temu), temperatura degustacji 14 stopni +, szkło snifter. Aromat: Po otwarciu butelki praktycznie wyczuwalna tylko kawa, po przelaniu i odczekaniu aby trunek trochę się ogrzał wychodzi powoli na pierwszy plan aromat czekoladowo-owocowy, aromat jest słodki na pierwszą myśl przychodzą śliwkami w czekoladzie z dodatkiem rumu, ponieważ alkohol jest wyczuwalny ale w przyjemny delikatny i szlachetny sposób, dobrze komponuje się z całościa, żonie bardziej kojarzy się z winem porto, i w zasadzie też tak jest, aromat jest złożony i bez wad sensorycznych, można dowoli wdychać i delektować się aromatem, czuć moc. Piana: brązowa(nie beż), drobno pęcherzykowa wręcz kremowa jak na azocie, naprawdę robi wrażenie, obfita, nie jest zbyt trwała ale to ze względu na wysoką zawartość %, opadając ładnie zdobi szkło. Barwa: czarne jak smoła, chyba przejrzyste, ciężko ocenić w tym szkle. Smak: słodkie jak bym jadł śliwki w czekoladzie złamane goryczką na średnim poziomie, kawowo-alkoholową która z jednej strony ściąga delikatnie tylną część języka a z drugiej rozgrzewa podniebienie. Po zamieszaniu szkła widać że piwo jest gęste, likierowe, ale już przy przełykaniu przyjemnie aksamitne (pewnie dzięki zastosowaniu płatków owsianych) , o niskim wysyceniu, niezwykle pijalne, alk nie jest ordynarny piwo nie zapycha, jest na tyle pijalne że aż chciałoby się otworzyć kolejną butelkę, ale już po pierwszej czuć moc(czas płynie wolniej), przez co piwo zdecydowanie degustacyjne, godne polecenia, acz kolejek d... nie urywa i tutaj rodzi się pytanie otwierać czy dalej leżakować, straci coś czy zyska.

11.15 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out roasted malt, some oats, and lightly sweet cocoa. Flavour is quite robust and well-balanced, with cocoa, oats, and light roast. Medium-to-heavy bodied with medium sweetness. This is an exercise in balance. Everything is done well. Excellent.
