Bottle. Light orange-amber color. What I am about to say is meant as a great compliment. This beer reminds me of the old Miller Lowenbrau. It was my favorite beer when I was a young man and I really miss it.

Crisp, super clear deep bronzed coloured body with a copper glow and almost no head at all. Aroma of crisp lager yeast, light biscuits, some grain and a tiny bit of squash noticeable as well with the caramelised sugars showing at the finish. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong biscuity and grainy malt at first with a substantial amount of sugars from caramel showing right afterwards and a good balance from some light English/German hops and a low pungent kick from the grain. Aftertaste shows a surprisingly nice balance of the hops and malt with a good deal of caramelised sugars and an extra touch of grain at the end. Overall, a nice and more syrupy Oktoberfest/Marzen than most, but in a good way only. Worth trying if you like the style and can find this! I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from BeerTopia in Omaha, Nebraska on 01-October-2017 for US$1,67 sampled at home in Washington after finding out that I'll be heading back out to Omaha in a few weeks.

Draft at the brewery and Cut Spike. Pours a clear orange amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor are tied together. Mild toasted malts, bread, hints of earth, and caramel. It is a straightforward Oktoberfest that is very light bodied.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce bottle into dimpled mug, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep orange/light copper color with a small dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nuttiness, herbal, floral, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Touch of yeast fruitiness, but pretty minimal. Taste of big brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nuttiness, herbal, floral, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nuttiness, herbal, floral, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Minimal dryness. Light-medium carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/creamy, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Fairly clean on lager flavors; slight yeasty notes present, but pretty minimal. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is a very good Oktoberfest style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink. Nice rich malt flavors, with just enough hops to balance. A very enjoyable offering.

Tap at QBrick. Nice dark orange-brown color with lace. Fruity, rich malts, cherry, caramel nose. Sweet and fruity, very malty flavor. Not so interesting.

Bottle: Amber/chestnut pour with a small bubbly ring of eggshell head. Nose is malty, lightly toasted nuts. Semi-earthy. Taste is sweeter, that of lager malts. Light toast and faint florals. The initial impression is that of deep dark flavors from the roast and toast, but then it gets a little watery feeling. Letdown...

Tap @ Old Chicago’s Lincoln Haymarket. Pours a rust orange appearance with a thin off white head. Toasted malty, toffee, caramel, apple aroma. Somewhat buttery, caramel, butterscotch, herbal, sweet malty flavor. Fairly thick diacetyl. Second Nebraska lager in a row with butter. Fuck.
