Bottle. A slightly hazy, sparkling, golden-colored beer topped by a dense, two-finger off-white head leaving lacings. Sweetish, pear-like aroma with some yeast and citrus. Sweet, fruity flavor with some alcohol. Quite yeasty. Metallic, bitter finish, sweet and warming. Full-bodied and effervescent, some warming feeling. Well, it’s sure drinkable and all that, but it’s a rather mediocre tripel, lacking depth. 100327

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Pale greenish gold slight haze thickish rocky white head. Bit of soapy hop on aroma. Some tripel rose petal flavour, even a bit vegetal. Yes just a tad vegetal on the flavour makes it not entirely pleasant.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a hazy, amber golden with a white head. Has a vague fruity aroma with a whiff of yeast. Medium body with lightly sweet, pale malts and again a touch of yeast. The finish is dry. Drinkable but not much of a Tripel really. 080807

Deep gold, clear beer; good carbonation to frothy off-white head. Creamy nose, white candi sugar, quite neutral. Sharp, pseudo-citrus taste, reverting to neutral-sweetish. Bit fatty retronasal. Ever so slightly slick, thinnish texture, and not really medium bodied. Bit weird, not entirely pleasant aftertaste. Cannot say I like it, but neither why. It’s very neutral, and certainly not as bad as the Danes claim. Their first confrontation with a top-fermenting ale, I presume?

Blond color; generous head, but fizzy, and it disappears immediately like a lemonade. Bad aroma: some malt, some citrus fruits, wet cardboard… Dry mouthfeel, poor malt and hop. Useless.

Bottled. Cloudy mustard yellow. Sweet, yeasy and soft with some phenolic banana flavour. Medium bodied with a finish that just diminshes out into nothing.
