A balanced, boldly aromatic & smooth Imperial IPA; brewed with Warrior, Amarillo, Mosaic & Belma hops, then generously dry-hopped with more Belma; clean, round & fruit forward with effusive notes of Winter citrus in the nose (Mandarin orange, Meyer Lemon, grapefruit & tangerine).

Deep hazy golden coloured body with an orange glow and a very thin tan head. Aroma of super pungent hops, alcohol, sugars, resin and a good dose of pine. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich hop flavours of pine and resin along with a good deal of alcohol and malt to balance out everything. Aftertaste shows some nice rich malts and some pleasant sweet notes mostly from fruit, but the balance is nice and the heavy parts hit just right. Overall, a very nice Imperial IPA with a big body and flavour, and to me at least, lives up to the hype of the brewery. I sampled this glass on draught at the brewpub after a baseball game on 20-May-2015 in Washington, DC on 20-May-2015 for US$7,50.

On tap at the brewpub, pours a clear golden orange with some foamy, white head. Nose is fairly old school, big orange and pine notes, soapy, some malt, a little cleaning solution. Flavor follows, bitter orange, punchy pine, soap, mild honey, some lurking guava, some grasses. Full bodied, bitter finish.

Cask and draft side by side. Cask version is much darker, crystal clear golden amber with a large bubble head. Keg is cloudy orange with fine white bubbles. Aroma is resiny bitter orange, and the keg has a bit of pine. Taste is very bitter fruity citrus and pine, and the keg is much more bitter. Both finish very dry. Tasty. Glad I left these two for last.
