Smooth and creamy best describes this beer. Black malt creates the intense color while adding a touch of roasted flavor. A large amount of rolled oats enhances the creaminess created by using nitrogen instead of carbon dioxide for the bubbles. Hold a normal stout up to the light and it’s hard to see through. Hold this stout up to the light and the room turns dark!

4 oz pour on draft at District ChopHouse. Black with light tan head. Nice lacing. Aromas of cinnamon, spices, chocolate. Tastes of dark chocolate, light caramel and vanilla, roasty notes, light malt. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Great oatmeal stout, my favorite of the flight.

What I expect to be among their better beers but we’ll see. Light sweet breakfast oat aroma and some roast. Pours black with good head and lacing. Finishes with light sweetness and mostly bitter, consistent with style. Tap at brewpub.
