Robert is a Saison brewed using both American and European malts and hops and a distinctive strain of farmhouse yeast. Primary fermentation took place in one of our unique open-top fermenters which are perfectly designed for brewing yeast forward styles like Saison. This beer has characteristics of white pepper and fruit with a lingering dry finish. Robert is refermented in the bottle and keg creating its fine carbonation.

From bottle to tulip glass. Dated October 6, 2020. Big funk and spice on the aroma. Moderate meadow and straw. Pours a hazed olde gold with full white head that lingers throughout. Flavor is spice dominated with moderate sweetness.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy vibrant golden with a voluminous white head with long retention. Nose is wonderfully fragrant, with a beautiful rustic saison yeast character, farmhouse funk, and soft spiciness. Flavour is spicy and rustic, with a really nice farmhouse funk, gentle spiciness from the yeast, and a touch of white pepper. Dry, spicy and rustic. Really expertly made. Excellent.

Bottle. Pours clear yellow, large fluffy white head, dissipates slowly, good lacing. Aroma is dusty field grass with a hint of coriander. Flavor is dry, spicy, earthen, herbal. Hint of lemon at all. But not tart per se. Light body. Old school saison.

375 mL bottle poured, picked up at Provisions. Bright golden yellow appearance, long lasting foam head. Really nice and refreshing saison here. Perfect amount of spice to this to balance. Hints of lemon. Cool finish. Long linger of the subtle, intriguing spice. Really tasty one here.

375 c&c from Bine & Vine. Pours clear, bright gold with a large foamy/frothy white head. Aroma has earth, pale fruit and some mild pepper. Med body or so. Quite dry. Sort of white pepper for bitter - not hot bits like black pepper - though it might be pink pepper. Earthy. Not saying there's Brett, but very close. Really clean. Extremely tasty.

Poured from a 375 ml bottle. Aroma is yeast-driven with lots of peppery notes as well as some clove and coriander. Moderate pear notes with lighter red apple and stone fruit. Faint floral and grain notes. Pours a hazy, dusty, gold color with a large, fluffy, white head that recedes slowly but steadily. Moderate lacing and faint legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with a dry finish which accentuates the moderate bitterness. Moderate peppery notes with lighter coriander and clover. Light pear and floral notes with faint red apple. Hints of herbal hops. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent Saison. A bit too traditional for my preferences, but it's easy drinking and clean.
