Poured from 375mL bottle. Muddy dark brown with no head. Brandy forward with rich, mild chocolate, toffee, dark fruit, booze, touch of whiskey.

Murky pale brown. No head. On the nose, lots of sweet fruit, maybe stewed fruit a bit. Soft body, and there's a fantastic rye spiciness to this. The barrels come on strong, and there's a lot of sweetness, too. The sugars are a bit clunky, but the barrel is something. Rich, spicy, lends some dryness and alcohol. Boozy, aggressive. Could benefit from more refinement, especially in that malt character.

375ml (thx, Randall C.!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: muddy copper with no head, looks pretty ugly. Aroma: barrel, raisins, figs, some heat. Taste: very thick, moderately sweet, lots of dark fruits, finishes with loads of toffee, caramel, and some brandy notes. Overall: quite complex with multiple layers, interesting,

375mL bottle, pours a filthy dark mahogany with a tiny beige head. Aroma is full of brandy barrels, bready caramel malt, and some filthy earthiness. Flavour is quite intense, with lots of boozy grape brandy upfront, some earthiness from the rye whiskey, and toffee. Very boozy -- even for 15%, it expresses every percent. Sweet but masked by the alcohol. Honestly, this is pretty messy and boozy; it doesn't have the complexity, elegance or integration that many other 3 Sons beers have. It's solid, but way overpriced and somewhat flawed.

Bottle thanks to Shaun. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is toffee, vanilla, raisin, dates, fig, wood, booze. Slick body, dark fruit, wood, caramel, boozy finish, very good.
