Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. The lambic for this brew comes from the Boon (Lembeek) brewery, according to the original recipe of Henri Vandervelden, the founder of Oud Beersel.

0,375l bottle at home. Cant really read the Vintage, but I think its very recent. yellow almost clear color, medium big white head. smells funky, earthy, grassy, wood, nutty, lightly citric, wow, very lovely smell. full body, fizzy carbonation. tastes fizzy, citric, grassy, earthy, funky, basement, light stone fruits, hay, subtle flowery, some tobacco. finishes dry, fizz and lightly sour with notes of citrus, funk and some hay. very nice one, loved the smell, taste is nice too, but very very fizzy, I usually like that, but its over the top here. this should be lovely in a year or two, once the carbonation calms down a bit. overall great beer though, great complexity.

37,5 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Kulenborgse Bierhandel. Hazy dark yellow with a white head. Wheat and green apple aroma. Tart taste with a dry sour finish. Lively carbonation. Classic lambic example.

Cork and caged 37.5cl bottle obtained many years ago: BB 29th Nov 2027. Drank this at home on 8th Jan 2021, to celebrate the adding of Belgian Provinces onto the RateBeer system/database. Cheers all those involved. Christ, I don't like Gueuze beers at all, why so many people go on about Lambic's is beyond me. This was tart, sour and like wine that the vinegar fly had infested. I have tried to embrace this ancient style but I can't.

375 mL bottle poured. Picked this bottle up about 5 years ago. Not sure how old it was when I got it. Best before 14.03.2034. Planned on saving it to that day originally, but for multiple reasons, I'm doing some cellar clearing. A bright and somewhat thick orange pour, dense foam head. A nice tart front taste, some sour white grapes, a soft metallic note. Nice oak character here that lingers. Matching aroma. Really interesting geuze here. Like always, I wish I had a fresh one to compare.

375ml bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours orange gold, with no foam. Aroma is medium strong in barn, wild. Body is average, with moderate carbonation. Taste is medium sour, nice but not excessive. Final is fairly short.
