Near clear gold beer, good bubbly pale cream colour head but it doesn't last long. Light palate, mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. The malts are smooth but a bit grainy. Hops bring crisp pine but a rather stodgy and tired tasting citrus. Mild peel. Some mild esters in the aftertaste. Chelmsford can do better than this. Tastes like an old school brewery trying to be crafty.

Half-pint, cask, house beer at Orange Tree in Chelmsford. Shared with Finn. Clear dark amber body, spotty lacing from a slowly diminishing beige head. Moderate malt-fruity aromas, caramel and ripe lemon. Ripe citrus fruity flavours offset by light malty sweetness. Moments of fruity bitterness to the finish, dry. Easy to drink. Fair enough (Chelmsford 23.11.2021).
