330ml bottle 28th April 2013. A cheeky tick as can't remember much about it.

Can in the Byron on Cowcross Street. A pleasant, light pale ale that sat perfectly alongside the very good burger. Not much sticks out in the mind, but that was probably due to me being (in the immortal words of Private Eye) a "bit tired and emotional." My friend had already lost the plot and had to go home without finishing his burger. And I thought Germans had staying power :)

Golden colour with a small fluffy head. Pleasant fruity and floral hoppiness along with mild herbs and grass. Flavour is quite similar, but also has some nice sweet maltiness to give it a body and balance the hops up. Smooth and quite a nice session beer.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours crystal clear gold with a moderate, foamy white head. The nose gives off a decent bready malt punch, perhaps some lightly toasted bread, then behind that there are subtle citrus hop notes. Light to medium sweet flavor with a prominent bready malt base, atop which an understated hop character adds enough character to keep the beer interesting. Some light dried pine, orange, grass. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Balanced finish, some dry and bready malts, slight minerals, delicate pine, grass and orange, some mild citrus rind bitterness. A pretty well-balanced APA. I would guess the restrained hop character is intentional, for in my opinion too strong a hop presence might not sit well with a burger. Having the breadiness out front is probably sage. Good, simple beer.

Bottle at Byron haymarket. Light yellow thin white head. Neutral aroma some corn nutty malt. Crisp later like flavour. Under hopped and very disappointing. I expect better from camden.

Sample at SBWF 2012. Clear golden with a small head. Rather hoppy beer this one. Fruit, grass and some malt. Nicely balanced and easy to drink. Medium bitter.
