Dark brownish black, brown edge of foam, looks thick. Smell is roasty and cognac. Real thick body, soft, smooth, light carbonation. Taste is quite roasty at first, followed by milky chocolate. Some sweet cognac seeps through the cracks. Pretty good.

Can shared in Hackney - cheers to Seth. Pours black-brown with a small, tan head. Very tasty, with light smokey notes, earth, dried berries, chocolate. Full bodied, oily and moderately chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, rich chocolate, well roasted malts. Damn tasty.

Basement bar 081119. Dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is wood, licorice, chocolate. Flavor is wood, licorice, sugar, vanilla, caramel, alcohol, chocolate, dried fruits. Very nice beer.

Tap @ Basement bar. Black body with a nice, small, lacing beige head. Nice aroma, dark roasted malt, some caramel and warming alcohol. Taste is sweet and heavy, almost a bit intense in your face with sweet malt and alcohol but in a nice way. Chocolate, dark fruit and caramel are more in the background. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste.

Thin beige head left a thick oily black body. Rum, dark berry & jam aroma. Full bodied, smooth & oily on the palate. Jam, marmalade, orange & sugar tastes.

330ml can. Pours jet black with a small head. Aroma is heavy rar, roast, liquorice, cognac and alcohol. Taste has roast and tar to start. Sweet cognac and raisin finish. Thick mouthfeel.
