The fourth in a series of collaborations ahead of our first festival, Friends & Family & Beer. White Hag from Sligo are known for their deliciously drinkable stout Black Pig while we're synonymous with hops, so a Black IPA seemed the perfect compromise. Notes of orange and blackcurrant lead into hints of chocolate and roast and a pithy, bitter finish.

Aroma & Flavour: Orange and blackcurrant up front, followed by papaya, melon and light chocolate and roasted malt notes
Body: Medium bodied with drying finish
Aftertaste: Pithy bitterness, lingering orange notes

Can @Sam Beer Shop (Rome). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma beige abbondante e persistente. Al naso note citriche e agrumate, erbacee, di caffè, cioccolato. In bocca è amara, caffè, cioccolato fondente e tanto luppolo, leggero pepato. Corpo pieno, carbonazione leggera, soffice al palato. Non male.

Can at home from Grumpy Goat, 8th March 19. Pours a black cloudy affair. Aroma is super hoppy, citrus, raw, smoke, cocoa. Taste is bitter hoptabulous, cocoa, citrus, raw hop, numbs the mouth, love it. Bitter grapefruit rolled in cocoa powder.

Tap @ Cloudwater BBF19, Manchester. Creamy black brown pour, beige head, quite thick bubbles there. Nose is tropical, soft juicy, overripe fruits. Would not guess this is a black IPA - but it is! Taste is bitter, creamy and has some agressive ashy roast thing, herbal somewhat, dry and bitter. Smooth mouthfeel, easygoing beer. Dry ashy bitterness.

On tap at the Cloudwater, Bermondsey, London Sat' 2nd March 2019 in the company of Dadger. Pours black with a lovely creamy off white head. Nutty nose, soft in the mouth and creamy but also a dry roast edge. It's really good.

Keg at Hop Locker, Waterloo. Fot nose strain but there is a coffee and cardboard aroma in there. Dark. Thin creamy beige head. Initial sour edged bitterness before some creaminess. It's in the finish that the bitterness really asserts itself. Light-medium bodied. Slightly creamy. Flat carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. OK. Doesn't quite do it for me.
