On the nose, we can clearly distinguish floral and fruity scents: violet and elderflower rub shoulders with aromas of banana and pear brandy. On the palate, this bouquet is completed by notes of coconut and vanilla coming from the oak, punctuated by subtle undertones of caramel and chocolate. The whole gives a pleasantly surprising roundness. The initial sweetness of the beer is counterbalanced by the generously present alcohol. Then, the sweet character of the beer blossoms, with a lingering finish.

Bottle@SBWF2022. Brownish black colour with a small off-white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is dried fruits, alcohol, some wood and mild spicy tones. Flavour is pretty much following the same pattern. Nicely balanced, and very gentle palate.

Bottle, 375ml corked. An unclear brown beer with a dense beige head. Lacing. The aroma is quite oaked, with caramel, bread, dark dried fruit and some roasted notes. It's full bodied, warming, carbonated and with a good dash of tannins. Caramel, toffee, raisin, milk chocolate, bread crust and oak flavor. Belgian yeast notes. Lasting finish. A successful barrel aging indeed. 230517

750 ml corked & caged bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10.5%. Clear reddish brown colour, huge off-white head. Lovely aroma of malts, brown sugar, caramel, dark dried fruits, oak and whisky. Pleasant and medium sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, moderate hops.

0.375l bottle thanks to Lore. Orangish dark brown body with a white head. Aroma and taste of banana, cocoa, orange zest, vanilla and cloves. I can only get a trace of the barrels, but it does good to the beer for sure. Usual greatness from Cimay.

Clear amber colour, creamy ecru-ish head; aroma of prune, some dried sour cherry, some burnt sugary, orange peel oils and some clove notes; taste is the same with some alcoholic spiciness; great one

11/VI/22 - 37.5cl bottle @ Tournée Trappiste (Oostvleteren), BB: 2027, bottled: II/2022, L22-097 33457 (2022-686) Thanks to Alengrin for sharing today’s beers!
Pretty clear dark maroon to deep red brown beer, small creamy off-white head, a little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: caramel malts, ripe banana, raisin bread, yeasty, dried figs, dark chocolate. MF: lots of caramel, medium to full body. Taste: bitter, dry, soft roast, dried fruits, a bit hoppy, malty, caramel. Aftertaste: a little bitter, more caramel, yeasty, a bit hoppy, grains, more yeast, soft roast, decent, ok beer. Not the best version in the series.

75cl bottle (no. 06033 from 34200, bottled 02/2022, BBF: 02/2027) from L’ Auberge de Poteaupré as my #3100 beer from Belgium. F: big, tan, good retention. C: brown with dark coppery against the light. A: dried fruits, woody, bit vanilla, caramel, honey, perfumed, plums, dried figs, banana, spicy touch. T: full malty base, dried fruits, caramel, banana, woody, bit vanilla, perfumed, whisky touch, bit warming alcohol, plums, honey, red berries touch, raisins, medium carbonation, nice balanced beer not very different from the others in this series but for me still fully enjoyable.
