A barrel aged Stoutwine blended from Scotch Whisky, maple syrup, and Sauternes.
Taste: A rich malt body combines with dark chocolate before being overwhelmed by sweet sherry and lashings of spicy peat smoke. Gentle notes of oak pair with caramel and dark liquorice flavours, finishing with the character of freshly pulled Italian espresso and toffee.

33cl bottle at tasting 09.07.2022. Poured black in color. Malty roasty with red wine flavors, sweetness, some wood as well. Sweetish, maybe from the maple, but stays nicely drinkable still.

Bottled 330ml. -at Goblet Zagreb, shared with Marko. Black coloured, small brownish head, light maple and alcohol in the nose. Roasted malt, caramel, dried fruits, notes of wood and alcohol with some maple touch. Vinous and slightly cheesy touch also. Unbalanced.

Bottle at Goblet, shared with Ogivlado. Buttery raisiny barrel aroma, not attractive. Sour taste, butter, raisins, bit maple, extremely sour even, bit perfumey, citric. Urgh. Some nice notes, but this just feels off.

330ml bottle shared by Finn. Pitch black body, bubbly, beige head, dotted spots on the glassware. Roasted dark chocolate malts on the nose, mid-sweet. Chocolate-coffee flavours supported by hints of liquorice, woody. Roasted ending, long-lived wit warmth from the alcohol. Full bodied. Nice sipper, rather sweet in the long run. (Tromsø 21.06.2022).

Delt med Rune på Nerstranda. Svart. Lavt mokkafarget skum. Aroma av lønnesirup. Smaken treaktig. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Tørr avslutning. Ble vel søt - men bra.

Opaque dark brown beer, very short paleish tan head. Rather enticing nose of ripe whiskey soaked fruits and dessert wine richness. Fairly light palate, all things considered, mildly dry and with decent fine carbonation. Mellow if somewhat thin dark malts, nice dark chocolate biscuit with a touch of soft coffee. The whiskey barrelling follows the nose, soft whiskey ripe fruits. Nice light dessert wine blends in seamlessly. Finishes airy with a little spice. Another well done Impy from Pohjala, takes a lot of elements, that could easily get messy, but nuances them very well here. Complex, rich, pretty light for style and very drinkable. Marvellous!

Brew festival 2022. Black color with a tan head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, licorice. Flavor is coffee, roasted malt, licorice, nuts, chocolate, alcohol, caramel, dried fruits. Very nice beer.

Superficial festival rating at Brew Festival, Oslo 2022. Saturday session 1. Black body under a dense beige head. Aroma has dark malt, chocolate and nuts with warming alcohol. Taste is sweet with dark malt, chocolate and warming alcohol. Nice body and long lasting aftertaste ending rather sweet. Nice but not among the best from Põhjala

On tap at Brew Festival. It’s black in the glass, with a small beige head. The aroma has dark caramel sauce, chocolate and some coffee. It’s lightly acidic on the palate, but mostly sweet, with a light alcohol warmth.Full body. The flavor is quite sweet, with caramel sauce, chocolate and some coffee and dark dried fruits. Some alcohol too, feeling stronger in the rathers sweet finish. Not the most complex beer, but sure nice and tasteful anyway. 220430
