A Dashing Something is our Nordic Oud Bruin inspired Haandbakk, macerated with locally grown raspberries. We added lingonberries and plums for even more fruitiness and complexity. This is a unique and new sour beer.

22.09.2024, 0,75l bottle @ home:
Soft gusher. Big fizzy shortlasting head, slightly cloudy reddish golden color. Aroma is slightly sweet sour-ish fruity, fresh raspberries, grass, mild vinegar, oak, berry skin, red berries syrup, hints of vanilla and dark sugar. Taste is dry sour-ish fruity, vinegar, fruit salt, soda powder, sour red berries, oak, grass, unripe plums. Medium bitterness, dry sour-ish fruity mouthfeel. Nice.

750 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken, shared with my son. ABV is 7%. The colour is more red than brown, moderate off-white to beige head. Aroma of brettanomyces, red wine and oak, also the expected notes of raspberries, cowberries and sour plums. Sour flavour with the same elements as the aroma.

Bottle courtesy of Gunfryd. Slightly unclear amber body under a moderate sized, dense beige head. Wonderful aroma of malt, cherry, wood and acid. Taste has sweet malt and hint of toffee with acidic red berries, cherry (do not recognized the actual berries on the label), wood and lemon/vinegar. Fine body with long lasting aftertaste. Nice, refreshing, tasty and quite complex.

Bottle, 75cl. It's an unclear reddish-orange, almost brown beer with a minimal sized head. Strawberry hints, lingonberry, lemon and a touch of vinegar in the aroma, along with lots of raspberry. It's full-bodied, dry and tart on the palate, with a suiting low carbonation level. Raspberry drives the flavor too, the vinegar is a bit more present than in the aroma, still only in the back. Strawberry and a lemony sourness too, and also some lingonberry sourness. Lasting and really pleasant fruity finish. A very nice beer indeed. The plums added were well hidden, which isn't unusual for plums, but there's so much other good stuff going on here so I don't care. 200619
