12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and balance of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good sized pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Good robustness, complexity, and balance of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth, resinous/sticky, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a good IPA. All around god robustness, complexity, and balance of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Crisp slightly hazy light copper coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall head and some nice microscopic bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of fresh earthy and citrusey hops with a bit of a caramel note and some malt noticeable as well. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and citrusey hop flavours up front with some pine and herbal notes on the back end. Aftertaste shows a smooth malt character, some lighter sweetness and a little grassy bitterness left over from the hops. Overall, a nice and a relatively smooth beer with some good hop notes, but not much bitterness, but a good balance and a light sweetness. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 02-August-2013 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 10-December-2013.

Draft at the brewpub, Big Rapids. Hazy medium orange body, thin beige head. Sweet, piny and citrusy nose with concentrated grapefruit and hints of pineapple. The body is lighter than anticipated with lots of pine, grapefruit, and pineapple and a light toasty malt backbone. Floral, sweet, and spicy; bright and fresh. Clean and sharp. This is quite nice.

Bottle thanks to Mike! Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has notes of buttered popcorn, earthy grains and just a hint of musty grass hops. Flavor is similar with mainly a combination of buttered popcorn and earthy grains with the same hint of grass hops.
