From tap at Taplokaal Gist, Utrecht. Aroma is very strong whiskey with roasted malt, lots of wood, bit sharp from the whiskey, soft dark chocolate. Sweetish and bitter flavour, medium to full body. A bit unrefined, I like more smooth balance in my BA Stout. That being said, I found it enjoyable.

Bottle at home. Black with tan head, looks nice! Lots of licorice, dry malts, raw cocoa, dry whisky, toffee, vanilla, more dry oak, hazelnuts, raisins, anise, tar. Full sweet and bitter. Thick full body with soft carbonation. Nice beer with nice barrel notes, just a bit too much licorice but overall very nice.

Noire, col épais et crémeux moka.
Arôme est puissant chocolaté, barrique, tourbe, mélasse, sherry cask et léger soja - rappel de cerise confite.

Palais est épais, fortement orienté sur un côté mélasse, soy sauce avec éléments de tourbe et de feuilles de tabac ainsi que un léger apport de boisé rappelant le sherry. Fini sec, boozy avec un côté whisky marqué.

Keg at taplokaal gist. Pours black, nose is chocolate, toffee, dark fruits, light funk, taste is similar, quite boozy. 8/4/7/3/15

Bottle. Black. Licorice, roast, confit fruit, oak and whisky in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with dried red fruit, roast, caramel, lots of whisky and licorice. Has thinned a bit, but is very well balanced, I really liked this one.

On tap at Bierlokaal de Uiver. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of boozy whisky, wood, molasses, brownie, chocolate, green apples / solvent. Flavour follows, quite sweet, thick, boozy, lots of wood and some green apple skin, chocolate, bittersweet finish, some soy. Full bodied. Not worth the insane price tag.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ W. van Schaik, Vianen. Black with a thin beige head. Salty malty Scotch whisky aroma. Too thin bodied and too boozy for my taste, the whisky completely overpowers the beer. Reading the brewers liner notes this was intentional and I know a lot of other people will really dig this one but I didn't enjoy it at all. 8-3-6-2-12: 3.1 Re-rerate 24-12-2020: Black with a thin beige head. Massive Scotch aroma. Still boozy but more balanced than the previous tasting. Whisky and stout are in perfect balanced now. Great BA stout on second try. 8-3-8-4-16: 3.9

zwart met fijne bruine kraag. aroma van whisky, chocolade en cacao, mout, koffie,. smaken zijn wat dun van textuur, alcohol, chocolade, cacao, alcoholisch, vrij stevig, wat zoetig, matig bitter, matig tot redelijk zoet, mwah had m graag wat dikker qua textuur willen hebben, scherpe whiskt, wat soya saus, vanille en mocca.
