This west coast style DIPA packs a hoppy punch with a smooth, citrusy finish. Brewed with Citra, Amarillo and Simcoe hops, this is sure to please even the hoppiest hop head.

Poured from a bottle dated 06/17/2015. Aroma is moderately malty with some toasted bread, caramel and lighter cracker notes. Some medium light tropical fruit and stone fruit hop notes with one light citrus. Some light alcohol spice. Pours a cloudy, copper red with a small, moderately thick, slightly off white head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers. Medium lacing with longish legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with some light raisin, caramel, toasted bread and cracker malt notes. Medium high bitterness with moderate hop notes. Some tropical and stone fruit with medium light citrus and a bit of pine resin. Light alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, this is an insult to call this a West Coast style anything. The malt profile is way too strong with too much sweetness. It doesn’t finish very dry. The bitterness is not as strong as it could be and last, but most important, the hop profile is almost non existent and this is a fresh bottle. This is really disappointing for a "West Coast Style Double IPA."

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a clear orange with small white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong malt and citrus. Medium mouth, caramel malt, pine, light bitterness, decent.

Bottle. Pours a dingy brownish gold with a thin head and gunky aromas. Just a hint of oranges and a little toffee. Flavor is sweet and sticky with some hops resin thrown in there. Not the greatest from Odd Side.

Bottle. Translucent light coppery body, thin clumping light beige head. Odd nose, fermented pineapple/pineapple juice, citrus, and grassy hops; sweet. Slick, oily, sweet body, mostly pineapple, with a syrupy, bitter finish. After a few sips distracting diacetyl notes pick up in intensity; even butterscotchy. Not great.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 7/21/2014. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity and balance of citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, pine, caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity of citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly slick/sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. All around great complexity and balance of citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

12 oz bottle, dated 07/21/14. A bright orange amber, clear with an off-white head. Juicy orange and grapefruit, pine, and pineapple hop aromas. Flavor strong on sweet pineapple and pine hoppiness with a the citrus hoppiness slightly less than in the aroma. Darn tasty, though I think some extra bitterness could improve it a bit more.
