Bottle bought @Les Vignerons and shared with daniele. Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma color cappuccino leggera. Naso potente di caffé, bourbon, vaniglia, cioccolato. In bocca è avvolgente, complessa, corposa, dolce all'attacco con chiusura amara. Corpo pieno, carbonazione medio-leggera. Eccellente.

Tap at taproom. Opaque colour, small beige head. Heavy peaty bourbon whiskey aroma. Medium-bodied to full-bodied. Bourbon, roasted malts, lots of whiskey, peat. Not soft but powerful and tasty.

(330ml bottle @ Barrels, Burgers and Beer, Stockholm, Apr 14/19) Pours black with a small tan head. Notes of well-roasted and somewhat burnt malt, earthy smoky coffee, bourbon, vanilla, umami/soy, tocuhes of dark fruit. Somewhat sweet up front but the more bitter earthy coffee and burnt malt and ash take over, aided by toasty wood and a bit of drying booze, finishing nearly bone dry with coffee, soy, bourbon and vanilla accents. Medium body with fairly low carbonation. On the drier, more bitter side for this style of coffee stout which is quite okay. Definitely not cloying. The coffee used might not be totally to my taste but the beer is very good.

(Keg at Põhjala Taproom, 20190421) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, dark chocolate and vanilla. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, dark chocolate, sweetness, vanilla, coffee and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, coffee, vanilla and bitterness. A pleasant strong and burnt brew. The barrel effects were mild enough.

Batch 753. Alcohol. Very sweet coffee. Very smooth, quite chocolatey. Like sugar-crusted chocolate-coated coffee beans soaked in bourbon. It'd be a happy morning with this as a starter. Alcoholic in tasty and in your throat, but so smooth. Yummy stuff!

Tap @ Põhjala Brewery & Taproom. Pours dark brown with very limited foam on the top. Nose has some barrel booze, chocolate and toffee plus some morning coffee. Rhyme. Liquid chocolate, really. tastes also chocolaty, bitter coffee and some booze bitterness as well. Cocoa on steroids, surrounded by heavy bourbon, embracing it tightly. Finish has some roast bitterness, ashy linger. And a bit of booze.
