Altenburger Schwarzes.

Pours dark brown with ruby highlights. Moderate ivory head. Aroma: toasted malts, roast, coffee hints. Light plus body. Average carbonation. Taste: quite dry, roasty. Additional coffee and spicy hop. Hoppy ending. Light plus bitterness. Good clean schwarzbier.

* Old rating, 0,5l swing-top bottle, best before 24.12.05. Mild-röstiges Schwarzbier. Trocken mit deutlichen Röstmalzaromen, dabei feinherb abgestimmt. Lecker!

Dark red and full-bodied, this carries a very mellow toffee essence, exceptionally easy to drink.

Bottle. Pours dark chestnut with a nice full brown head and lace. Light nut roasted aroma. Roasted, light fruity (pear, apple) base, light wooden. Good broad hop profile to balance, roast and hop notes persist. Medium to full chewy body, light sparkly mouthfeel. Initially unimpressive but really grows on me: Enough flavors to make it interesting but at the same time balanced into a nice easy drinkable package - moreish in other words.

Swing-top bottle. Molasses and dark chocolate aroma - very nice. Opaque black-brown color with moderate tan head. Molasses and mild dark chocolate flavor with a lightly bitter grass hops finish. Body a bit light. Overall very nice.
