A very special full bodied strong stout with a coffee froth style head which leads to a rich aroma of bitter chocolate and liquorice. The taste is bitter, alcoholic and warming with a dry roasted-grain finish.

Tap@ Bakgรฅrden. Clear dark brown, close to black body with a small, dense and lacing beige head. Aroma has nice, dark roasted malt and lots of dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet, dark roasted malt, dark chocolate, toast and decent bitterness. Full bodied and long lasting quite sweet malty aftertaste with chocolate. A pretty solid one, almost too sweet but manage to cope with a bitter balance.

Can ordered from the brewery. Aroma had liquorice and espresso but also a big dose of sweet edged berries. Dark and inky. Thick foamy chocolate mousse-esque head. Medium-heavy bitter - Coffee and liquorice. Roasty. Underlying hints of berries and cream take the edge off... partially anyway. Medium-heavy bodied. Creamy. Flat-average carbonation. Long astringent finish. Old school.

Opaque dark brown black beer, small tan head that dies back quickly. Soft airy palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Fruity and slightly tangy dark malts. A little dark malt cream. A little dark chocolate and a whispers of licorice and treacle. Something in the background like a red wine barrel touch. Very mild spice on the soft finish. A grower. Plenty going on and it comes together well enough.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with huge, thick, creamy, slowly osteoporosing, settling, minimally lacing, tan head. Chocolately, roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, chocolate cookies, some treacle, some liquorice, burnt caramel, spicy marmite overtones, some bitter hop. Taste is dry, bitter, minimally sweet, roasty dark malty, chocolately, spicy, notes of dark chocolate, burnt caramel, some treacle, spicy hints of liquorice and marmite, bitter hoppy notes contribute to an overall above average bitterness and keep the malty sweetness at bay; oily to viscous texture, relatively lively carbonation, minimally sticky palate. Easy drinkable due to bitterness and carbonation. Not that slow sipper kind of Impy Stout.
