Pours black, very big offwhite head. Scent is roasty, chocolate, bit of earthy hops. Taste is full, roasty and chocolate, medium bitter. Hops are earthy, vegetal, green and raw. Works smoothly together. After rading the previous comment, i conclude to either have other preferences, or this is a new (better) batch as this does have the desired BIPA balance little beers in the style tend to have. Medium body, smooth, medium high carbo.

Bottle from Stacks.
A: hazy black, stable, foamy, tan head.
A: toast, burnt pine nuts, grapefruit peel, earth, black olive.
T: sweetish blackcurrant; bitter toast & coffee, umami-earthy notes.
F: bitter piney & earthy hops, toast, coffee, warming vodka-like alcohol.
P: medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation.
Decent if somewhat harsh BIPA.

Small cream-tan head over opaque dark-brown beer. Bit of tobacco, wet paper, wet straw, faint hopoil. Rather sweet (certainly for an IPA), orange, orangepeel, black grains, dried leaves. Hints at hopoil. Rather well-bodied, slick, well carbonated. Not half dry enough for a black IPA; despite its apparent high IBU, it sorely misses lupulin.

Bottle 33cl. @home poured into shaker. Clear dark brown colour, tall creamy tan head, good retention, good lacing. Aroma roasted malt, dried dark fruits, light caramel, resinous hops. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, some roast, dried dark fruits, dark chocolate, pine resin. Medium body, watery to creamy texture, soft carbonation, lingering roasty bittersweet aftertaste, some chocolate, earthy notes, the name is quite correct for this earthy beer, more a stout/porter than an IPA, very nice anyway.

4/VI/22 - 33cl bottle @ Maldegems Bierfestival, BB: (2022-651) Thanks to Ama and Erwin for sharing today's beers!
Pretty clear dark brown beer, big creamy beige head, stable, adhesive. Aroma: pretty floral, gentle roast, some alcohol, fruity, tropical fruits, juicy, nice and a little dank. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: good roast up front, pretty bitter, spicy, dry, grassy, nice stuff. Aftertaste: very bitter, dry, grassy, hoppy, a bit medicinal, very harsh roast, decent stuff!

The second beer by these guys from the Meetjesland region (northwest of Ghent), after a saison; enjoyed at ZBF, cheers to Yuri Hegge. Yellowish beige, moussy, medium sized head, very dark chocolate brown robe, as good as black. Aroma of burnt toast, dried grapefruit peel, pine resin, charcoal, nutmeg, hard caramel without the sweetness, black pepper, cheese rind. Dried-fruity onset (old raisins), fizzy carb, smooth body; dry toasty-nutty maltiness, burnt toast returning as well as the hard caramel, with a bitter unsugared chocolate note in the end, connecting with a long, leafy, peppery and piney, but also very slightly cheesy hop bitterness. Ends lightly earthy, with more dominance from toasted bitterness than hop bitterness, though the latter too remains very strong; decent ‘European style’ BIPA, and even if the brewers did not agree with me, I maintain that it would benefit from a more outspoken citrusy hop aroma to underline the ‘IPA’ part of it – like so many Euro BIPAs these days, it more resembles a hoppy stout or porter than a true IPA of whatever kind, even if the intention here was partially a "black saison" of sorts as well. Still a very enjoyable beer, though, one I would not mind drinking again.
