Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is sweetish bready malt, straw, light caramel. A bit sweet with a light to moderate bitterness. Medium body. Okay beer, not a great Keller.

Tap at Llandoger Trow, Bristol. Pours a hazed golden amber with a frothy white cap. Aroma: malty, caramel, honey, grassy. The taste follows, nice bready vibes, light hoppy semi-dry finish. Light sweet & light to moderate bitter. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Nice.

Die Bitburger Brauerei springt nun auch auf den Zwickl/Keller-Bierzug auf und haut ein solches auf den Markt. Dabei ist schon einmal verdächtig, dass es über ein Jahr MHD hat, was schon mal auf allerlei Zusätze hindeutet, was man gerade bei diesem Stil eher nicht will. Aber zum Bier: Es ist mäßig trüb und ebenso mäßig getreidig-hefig im Geschmack. EIn klassisches Industriebier jat, dass man gewaltsam am reifen gestört hat. Man kann es schon trinken, aber wirklich urig und würzig ist es nicht.

Zelfs de keller van een macro is dikke prima. Meer Duits bier!

Auch bei Großbrauereien findet man in letzter Zeit Biere die „Zwickl“ oder „Keller“ im Namen tragen. Recht dunkel für ein Kellerbier. Recht malzbetont, mild gehopft, Spuren von gekochten Früchten. Schön weich, gering carbonisiert. Etwas wässrig, aber trotzdem recht schmackhaft. Gar nicht schlecht für ein Industriebier.

Clear pale amber colour, tall frothy off-white head, half-way lasting, light lacing. Aroma sweet malt, bread, caramel, grassy hops. Malty taste, medium sweet and light bitter, bread, caramel. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, malty sweetbitter aftertaste, toasted notes, dusty, for a kellerbier not thta fresh, all in all okay.
