Bottle. Pours hazy reddish mahogany, swirling streaks of some suspended fine particles in the glass make it look like something from a horror movie. Huge beige creamy head, very slow to dissipate, nice lacing. Aroma is very light overall and dominated by grain, caramel, and not much else. Flavor is the same, maybe a touch of whiskey, but not much, medium sweet to the point of being a bit sickly, oranges, light tartness and funkiness; tastes a bit infected to me. Some woody tannins just to round out an overall not so pleasant experience.

Hazy deep amber beer with a pale tan head. Nice fruity nose. Palate is light and semi dry. Mild carbonation. A little creamy malt with a touch of barrel induced vanilla. Mellow and slightly sour whisky. Whisper of Coca Cola and nice generic fruits. Mild sherbet in the aftertaste. Very tasty and drinkable.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered brown body, slow steady carbonation bubbles within, thin white head. Probably the first barrel aged Nut Brown I’ve had. Barrel aroma combined with some toffee, caramel, brown chocolate. Mild and subdued, but still tastes bigger than 5.8%. Smooth caramel booze candy finish. Very unique, it’s nice to have a drinkable barrel aged beer. Refined, yet bold flavors. Well done.

Bottle. Brown sugar, caramel, oak aroma - all very faint. Hazy amber brown with a large beige head, good retention. Sour malt, nuts, whiskey/oak flavor. A little spice and roast in the finish. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 04/12/2012. The beer pours a hazy orange-brown color with a medium beige head that dissipates steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark malts and bourbon. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, brown sugar and bourbon in the background. The finish is sweet and malty with a subtle booze aftertaste. One of the lighter barrel-aged beers I have tried. Above average overall.
