Clear deep ruby brown colour, small foamy beige head, mostly diminishing, almost no lacing. Aroma roasted malts, wood bark, lots of spices: cinnamon, licorice, cocos, cardamom, white sage. Taste heavy sweet and light bitter, lots of spices as in aroma, coca cola, alcohol. Bittersweet finish, sugary, alcohol, medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Strange brew, interesting and complex, well-balanced, but not a beer I would drink often.
8/5/21: Very dark coppery brown, little bit of off-white head. Smell is very sweet, hint of cinnamon soaked coconut. Pretty thin, but otherwise decent mouthfeel. Some boozyness. Taste is interesting, some good coconutyness. Light bitter at the end. Cinnamon.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at tiong’s tasting, thanks rosenbergh, 20160109) The beer poured dark brown and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had dried basil, mint and malts. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, the dreaded coconut, chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste still had the coconut and the bitterness couldn’t kill it. A really weird quad.

Thank you for sharing people! Sampled draft @ “Gouda Winterbier Festival 2016”. Brownish amber with tanned head. Nose is big sweet cloves, honey, ginger, Coca-Cola, raisin, cloying,… Tastes like raisin, sugar, cloves, boozy apfelstrudel, candy, warming, vanilla, oily, slick, low carbonation, warming, thick malt. Quite enjoyed it, unlike everyone else it seems. It reminded me of apfelstrudel.

On tap at Winterbierfestival Gouda 2016. Slightly hazy, brownish amber. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy aroma of ginger, juniper and lovage. Sweetish-malty, spicy taste of ginger, juniper and lovage, followed by a medium long, medicinal, spicy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel, flat. Not good.

Bottle at tiong’s, Espoo. Thanks Rosenberg! Colour is deep reddish brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Dry fruits, lots of spices, mint, some Belgian yeast and malts. Very spicy. Body is like dubbel and spiciness makes me angry.
