Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Pitch black, with small beige head. Unmistakeable aroma of peat and iodine, some roasted malt. It's very smooth; light residual sweetness, overwhelmed by the roasted character; tar, peat, first aid cabinet, but barely showing any alcohol, and smooth till the finish, almost nitro like.

330ml on Ryan's deck shared with Alex. Appearance: almost black with a tan head. Aroma: a mix of a pharmacy and peat factory. Taste: along the same lines, lots of peat, roasted malts, moderate sweetness. Overall: I am rating this one pretending that I am a peat whiskey guy, while, unfortunately, I am not the one :(

Poured from 330mL can. Near black with small beige head. Very nice smokey peaty Laphroag aroma. Taste has a nice scotch quality, touch of soy sauce that brings down the quality a bit for me. I enjoy the aroma (but appreciate that you have to like an Islay style whiskey to really enjoy this). Balance-wise, I do think the Buffalo trace has a better overall balance.

330mL can, pours jet black with a large tan head. Aroma is loaded with peaty whiskey, smoke, and medium roast. Flavour is wonderfully deep, with intense peated whiskey barrels, smoke, dry roasted malt and just enough sweetness. What a wonderful peated whiskey barrel character. Lovely.

330 ml can. Pours black with moderate foamy tan head. Aromas of creamy chocolate, peat, candi sugar, and slick roasted malts. Flavors follow same. Beautiful integration of the peaty whisky without an iodine overload. Smooth and creamy with just enough peat to make it tasty and unique. Moderate ABV also helps.

Can from Hopduvel. Hazy black, thin, beige head. Aroma of beef stock, soy, earth, red apple, blue plum, tobacco, coffee bean, fondant, peated whisky (obviously). Taste has sweet plum, date & red apple in a thick chocolatey malt body, 'black-bready' too along smoky & umami notes of soy & beef stock; faintest touch of coffee. Herbal hoppy finish with notes of tobacco, dried fruit and coffee roast, warming peated whisky alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Very outspoken with the Laphroaig elegantly incorporated.

33cl can from Etre Gourmet web shop. F: medium, tanned, good retention. C: black, opaque. A: peaty notes, chocolate, woody, whisky touch, dark fruits, bit toffee. T: full malty base, chocolate, woody, peat, bit medicinal, nutty, dried fruits, toffee, coffee touch, decent bitterness, whisky, soft carbonation, nice balanced complex beer, fully enjoyed.

33cl Blik van AceDrinks. Zwarte kleur, dunne beige kraag. Zoet, massa's met Laphroaig rokerige turf, chocolade, koffie, gebrand, caramel, pruimen, toch een hint van groene appels, erg lekker maar mis wel wat diepgang. Medium body.

Can at home, 16th April 2022. Pours black and viscous. Aroma is peaty, barrel, whiskey, dark chocolate. Taste is perfect BA, peat, well integrated whiskey, base beer shines, dark malts, chocolate, smooth. It’s a stunner, reminds me of the good old days of De Molen and Emelisse. Wow stuff
