An experimental collaboration brew with Phühaste Brewery from Estonia. We smoked the malt ourselves on Japanese cherry wood and subsequently added fresh cherries to the fermenters in order to combine both wood and fruit in one delicious Stout.

0,33 l botttle from Beer Supreme, Oldenburg. Pours out oily pitch black, smallest beige head. Dark choco and coffee smell, little bit bacon. Taste starts smoked, also smooth. Low increasing sweetness in the background. Later some licorice. Really easy to drink, hidden alcohol. Cold cherry fruity coffee to the end, less smoke. Not bad but expected a little bit more deepness.

0.33 l bottle from 'Beyond Beer', best before August 2018. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, moderately roasty, slightly smoky and a little fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, some ash and hints of cherries. Moderately sweet, malty, quite roasty, slightly fruity and a bit smoky taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, some cherries and a touch of ash, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, earthy-dry and a bit smoky finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite nice but a bit harsh and not really round, somewhat uninspired. I expected a bit more, especially considering the abv.

(Keg at Ota Olut 2017) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, smoke and cherry jam. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were smoke, burnt malts, dark chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste was smoky, burnt and bitter. A nice smoked brew with berry jam notes.

Bottle in Hamburg. Great intense dark malty beginning. Fresh sourish red cherries on a dark malty thick body. The smoke is slightly in the back, fresh malty, great deep. Dry caramelly malts, dark roast and dark red cherries over hints of smoke. Absolutely great brew!

Draft at Muted Horn, Berlin. Pours dark brown, almost black. Brown foam on top, as its on nitro then that top is really persistent. Light roast aroma, soft, some blackberries. Taste is really smooth, creamy and brings out bitter dark chocolate, bit of coffee, dark fruit sweetness. Sweetness is soft and does not bother. Creamy dessert beer, somewhat smoky and some hop bitterness also there, great balance. Really digging this, absolute delight after an imperial stout I just had from an unnamed (but famous) brewery!
