Nachmelená Hruška was made from a blend of Herefordshire perry pears fermented in a single Islay whisky cask with a wort made in the style of a Czech svêtly ležák, using Czech grown barley and Saaz hops.

The resulting beer conditioned in bottle for 7 months before release.

14/9/2022. Bottle shared by danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear pale gold with minimal head. Aroma of pear, citrus, grass, malt, caramel, yeast, lightly woody and peaty whiskey. Moderate sweetness and bitterness with light tartness. Medium body, oily, soft carbonation. Peaty worty finish. Liked it, but preferred the non cask version.

Panda 🐼 at home thanks to Danlo. A light hazed yellow straw, coloured pour with a lasting loose white froth. Aroma is soft wheat, tart green apple, salt, gooseberry, decent funk, dry pear. Flavour is composed of mouldy sour funk, sour milk, salt, grass, seaweed, fizzy lemon, mouldy funk. Palate is semi sweet, tart, fizzy carbonation, Quite odd.

Panda at home, thanks to Danlo, 12/06/22. Moderately hazed orange with a good sized off white cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is dusty pear, grains, tannins, hedgerow, light smoke, stewed fruits. Taste comprises tarte orchard fruits, smoke, vanilla oak, tannins, modest funk, green berry must. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Its an ok sour but at the bottom end of the Mills list for me ... The Islay is fair subtle for me ... always a good thing but it just doesn't pull together all that well and shine.

750ml bottle from Aeble. Slightly hazy pale yellow gold colour, big foamy white head that dissipates to a thin rim and aroma of fruity, pear, islay cask hints, citric. Taste is tangy, pear, floral hints, then phenolic, islay barrel, peat, some pale malt, with drying bitter notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying astringent peaty finish. Quite drinkable.

Bottle. Mills online. I can’t wait for this Islay cask to either get rotten or bust into flames. Smells like an old lady with grey hair and grey skin wrapped up in bandages drinking perry. I mean it’s in perfect nick and multi layered, but I can’t kid I like that peaty thing. Not for me, but tickers gotta tick.
