Tom Oliver makes cider and perry in small batches, using fresh pressed cider apples and perry pears, spontaneously fermented by wild yeasts. Nachmelená Hruška was made by co-fermenting an equal proportion of Herefordshire perry pear juice (2019 harvest), with wort made in the style of a Czech světlý ležák (light lager), using Czech grown barley and Saaz hops. The resulting beer conditioned in bottle for 7 months before release. Named by Tom's Czech right-hand man Jarek, "Nachmelená Hruška" translates as "hopped- or drunk- pear.

75cl Bottle. Shared with the infamous SirAlexOfTheFriendsAndFamFame. Thanks man. Another Mills and another brilliant bottle. Woody and dry. Red apples and juicy pear. Very harmonic and inviting nose and flavor. Crisp. Thankfully I am not detecting any bretty leather. I could drink a lot of this. Elegant.

Bottle. Mills online. Light haze on a pale gold. Fine white head stays the course. Nose has dessert pear and apple. New leather brett. Bread crust grain. Some floral notes. Rosehip comes to mind. Taste has a floral, fruity sweetness, with a decent balance of sharp and bretty tart bitterness. Smooth and pretty full bodied. Fine carbonation. Bittersweet fruit to finish. Out of the ordinary.
