Bottle. Golden color. Soft soapy aroma. Malty bready soapy floral flavor. Decent, but lacks character.

Kalea-Bieradventkalender Deutschland Dosenversion 15.12.2017 Nach Alpenstoff und Alpenkönig kommt jetzt der Alpkönig. Da es sich bei all diesen Bieren um Exportbiere in die USA handelt, wage ich mal die Vermutung, dass die Amis unglaublich auf unsere Alpen stehen -die sind ja auch viel cooler als die ollen Rockys. So ein Almöhi, der im WInter Schihaserl flachlegt und im Sommer die deutschen Touristen abzockt oder die Kuh beglückt, ist ja auch viel interessanter als ein paar Indianer. Die Dose ist diesmal nicht so kitschig wie bei den anderen Alpenbieren. Eher schon satanistisch: schwarze Dose mit goldener Schrift und den obligatorischen Angaben von Volums- und Masse-Alkoholprozent (dürfte wohl in den USA vorgeschrieben sein). Es handelt sich um ein bernsteinfabenes malzbetontes Märzen -also ein deutsches und kein österreichisches Märzen. Allerdings geht die Malzigkeit schnell in eine pickige Süße über und vom Hopfen merkt man auch nicht viel. Besser als ein Bud light, aber die Amis haben bessere Biere.

Can from advent calendar Kalea. Pour is clear ambrr colour lasting beige head. Malty marzen. But quite light too. Not too heavy. A little light banana toffee. I thought perfectly acceptable and a good first beer of the day.

Can from an Egerer Advent pack from the Woodland Costco. Pours bright copper with a beige head. Warm malty aroma. Touch of grass? Med minus body. Flavor is slightly toasty/bready malt with a very light touch of grass and maybe spice. Not very dry/not very bitter.

Bottle. Golden, fine carbonation, white fluffy lacing head. Slightly sour grainy malt nose, light grassy hops. Medium full dusty body, light minerals, grainy, a bit unwieldy on the palate, needs more hops to be moreish.

50cl bottle. Pours clear dark golden colour with a medium good lasting white head. Aroma of toasted malt, bread, slightly sweet. Taste of pale malt, grain, bread, some sweetness in the aftertaste.

Butilka: Golden, mid-sized white head with a little lace; sweetish grainy-strawy nose; mild to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, nearly medium bodied and quite soft; slightly increasing bitterness towards the sweet and malty finish. Quite simple brew, but still well drinkable…

Pours a golden color. Sweet, malty aroma of hay, caramel and hops. Sweet, malty flavour of caramel, bread and hops.

Bottled 500ml (Tuulensuu, BB 09/2012)
Clear golden color (märzen?), steady white head. Ryeish, grassy, not very fresh. Medium-bodied. Sweet malty, grassy hoppyness, harsh, not very fresh hops. Short finish. No way Märzen, perhaps Oktoberfest.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head Aroma is grass, grains, and some sweetness. Flavour is quite much the same. A quite pleasant sweetish and hoppy Märzen. Also rather pale compared to what usually is oktoberfest/märzen.
